I created these assemblages from objects collected over time: coral from the beach, sticks found on bushwalks, wooden carvings that belonged to my aunt, souvenirs from museum gift shops, rocks from outback visits and a few carvings I had made myself. I assembled them on brass and zinc panels, the bottoms of birdcages, that were left over from the Forgotten Songs installation. It is a way of displaying a personal collection of curios, and perhaps altering their meanings by placing them in odd relation to each other.
